Education

Welcome to Carrington Medical Center Ambulance’s education page!

Thank you for your interest in expanding and maintaining your knowledge and skills to help our patients, community members, and visitors to Carrington and the Foster County area.

Here are some of the regularly scheduled classes we offer:

Heartsaver CPR

This is a great class for law enforcement, fire/rescue, industrial first response groups, day care providers, coaches, and anyone wanting to be ready to help if the worst should happen. We never know when we will come across a situation requiring CPR; it could be in your home, at work, or just when you are out and about in the community or on a trip.

Healthcare Provider CPR

This class is specifically built for those who are involved with direct patient care, such as nurses, CNAs, paramedics, EMTs, and ambulance drivers. These positions usually require an active certification and renewal every two years.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support

Physicians, mid-level providers, paramedics, nurses, and other advanced level healthcare providers are required to maintain proficiency in adult resuscitation knowledge and skills that go beyond basic chest compressions and rescue breathing. This class provides instruction and practice in a two-day format for new or expired certifications and a one-day format for renewals.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support

There are differences between adult and pediatric resuscitation. Similar to ACLS, physicians, mid-level providers, paramedics, nurses, and other advanced level healthcare providers are required to maintain proficiency in advanced pediatric resuscitation knowledge and skills. This class provides instruction and practice in a two-day format for new or expired certifications and a one-day format for renewals.

Other Courses

We also teach ECG, First Aid, Emergency Medical Responder, Emergency Medical Technician, and other classes on an as needed basis. If you would like to inquire about any class that you don’t see on the schedule, but has piqued your interest, please call the ambulance station at 701-652-2374. Also, if you have a large group and would like to inquire about scheduling a class outside of the regular schedule (week days, evenings, or weekends) for your entire group, give us a call and we will be as accommodating as possible.

PLEASE CONTACT THE AMBULANCE DEPARTMENT (701-652-2374) OR JESSICA LINDERMAN (701-652-4361) FOR TRAINING DATES AND TO SIGN UP FOR CLASSES.

From all the staff at Carrington Medical Center Ambulance, we thank you for your interest and we look forward to working with you to make a difference in the lives and wellbeing of those we serve.
