Radiology
Four registered Radiology Technologists staff the Carrington Health Center Radiology department. One of the three Mammography Technologists is also a Registered Ultrasonographer. In order to maintain a registry status each technologist is required to attend continuing education. This helps them stay abreast of new procedures and changes made in their field. A registered technologist is available at Carrington Health Center 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
MeritCare Radiologists read and interpret all x-rays and procedures done in the Radiology department. The radiologists are also available at the health center on Tuesdays to do specialized studies requiring an on-site physician. If a Radiologist’s opinion is needed at any other time, our films can be sent to MeritCare by teleradiology and a report will be called to our facility by the on-call Radiologist within an hour.
The Radiology Technologists take great pride in offering the following procedures at Carrington Health Center:
- Routine radiology
- Assisting the Radiologist with special studies, i.e. fluoroscopy (esophagus, stomach, small and large intestines), arthrograms, venograms and voiding
- Cystourethrograms
- Mammography to include biopsies
- CT scanning
- Ultrasound, including abdominal, obstetrical, and vascular
- EKG’s
- Holter Monitors
The following services are offered at Carrington Health Center weekly by a mobile service:
- MRI’s (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)
- Nuclear Medicine
- Echo (Heart) Ultrasounds
- DEXA Scans (used to diagnose osteoporosis)
